1st Annual 100 Mile House
Puppet & Mask Making Retreat
August 16-22, 2009

Come join Flexible Theatre this summer, for a one-week workshop and camping retreat in the beautiful B.C. Cariboo from August 16th - 22nd, 2009.

We will be conducting workshops on mask making and giant puppet making culminating in a community celebration of summer. Collaborate with like-minded folks to create masks and giant puppets used for demonstrations and community events.

Thanks to Maryann Abbs' family farm in 100 Mile House we will have the use of land for camping.

  • We ask you to provide your own tent and sleeping bag.
  • We will provide 3 vegetarian meals per day and limited use of a shower for participants.

The cost of this fun filled week is only $400 per person (not including transportation). This includes:

  • breakfast, lunch, and dinner from August 17-21 (5 days),
  • art materials,
  • instruction on mask making and puppet making,
  • workshops on herbal remedies, divining water, and square dancing.

We ask participants to arrive on Sunday August 16th to set up their camping spot and to enjoy the final dinner and celebration on Friday August 21st. Participants will then pack up and depart on August 22nd.

The maximum number of participants is 12. Early registration is recommended. To reserve your spot we need a non-refundable deposit of $200 by June 15th.

Applications for subsidy are available.
